Dental Sealants

Your child's premolars and molars have hard-to-clean pits and fissures on their chewing surfaces, leaving them at risk of developing cavities. Dental sealants are thin coatings that provide a protective shield, lowering the risk of tooth decay. We usually apply sealants when the first set and second set of permanent molars come in around ages 6-8 and 11-13. If your child has missed these milestones, it’s never too late to place sealants.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride, often known as nature's cavity fighter, helps strengthen your child’s teeth, lowering the risk of cavities. It also remineralizes the tooth enamel, reversing early tooth decay. Fluoride applications can work wonders, helping keep your child's teeth strong and cavity-free.

Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF)

SDF is a minimally invasive alternative to traditional dental fillings, offering an effective solution to stop tooth decay in its tracks until a child is ready for a permanent restoration or the baby tooth is ready to fall out naturally. At Inspire Dental, we offer RIVA STAR - the new generation of SDF by SDI, that lessens the appearance of black staining on application. The conservative treatment is ideal for minor to moderate cavities in baby teeth if the decay has not reached the nerves.

Glass Ionomer Fillings

Glass ionomer fillings release fluoride, which helps protect the treated tooth from further decay. The bioactive restorative material is usually used to repair cavities in primary teeth, especially when we need to ensure quick setting time or when treating young patients that have a hard time sitting still for long. Glass ionomer fillings match the surrounding teeth, delivering natural-looking smiles.

Dental Crowns

Baby teeth matter. They play a role in your child’s facial development and act like placeholders for the adult teeth, ensuring they come in correctly. At Inspire Dental, we try to avoid premature tooth loss whenever possible. We offer stainless steel and white, aesthetic zirconia crowns to preserve teeth damaged by deep decay, injury, or disease, buying us more time until the adult teeth are ready to come in. Children’s dental crowns cost a fraction of adult crowns and can help prevent the complications that often follow premature tooth loss, setting the stage for a lifetime of healthy smiles.

Space Maintainers

If a baby tooth is lost prematurely due to decay or injury, we may recommend a space maintainer to hold the space open to make sure the permanent tooth has all the room it needs to come in. Leaving a gap in your child's smile can lead to the remaining teeth shifting and causing future crowding and misalignment.

Gentle Extractions

Our goal is always to keep your child's natural teeth intact. However, there are times when a tooth is damaged beyond repair, leaving extraction as the only viable option.
